In 2013, the very first iteration of Cool Runnings Restaurant was born. It was a carryout business on 11th street with limited seating. It was and still is, the only Jamaican restaurant in Michigan City. Cool Runnings brought Michigan City a new flavor and as the business grew in popularity, customers started asking for a bigger space.
Soon after, there was a new Cool Runnings Restaurant, and Bar! All the same great Jamaican dishes in a historic space at 501 Center Street where patrons could dine-in and enjoy the authentic ambiance of the restaurant.
When you step inside the restaurant, you are immediately greeted by the smells and the music, and you know you’re in the right place. It’s a great place to hang our with family and friends and enjoy an evening. Whether you’re there for one of the big plates leaving you enough to take home, or the best Pain Killer in town, you won’t be disappointed.
